Free Business Card Software

If you do choose to make your own business cards using business card software, there are several inexpensive versions... I did not find ANY completely free business card software programs available.

Sometimes you can get "demo" versions of software for free.  However, you will probably have some type of time limit or promotional text added to your business card until you actually buy the business card software.

First take a look at any existing text editing programs you might already own, such as Microsoft Word or Publisher.  You can sometimes edit their settings (especially for label printing) in order to print business cards.  You'll need to add your own text and clipart, but it may be do-able.

However, software designed specifically to print business cards may produce better results, especially since you often have the option to use built-in backgrounds too.  Some popular, top-rated business card software programs are listed below.

Advanced Business Card Maker
by Indentsoft Software Solutions
http://www.indentsoft.com/business-card/

Shareware, free trial (but a Trial Version stamp appears on your prints); otherwise very good for $24.95.  File size is 4.6MB.

Excellent business card designing and printing software, many customization options... you can even save your design as an image file with BMP, JPG, GIF or PNG format and take to your print shop for professional printing.

Business Card Creator
by AMF
Software usage expires after 21 days, $15 to buy, 825.8KB file size

This is actually an add-on for Microsoft Word that allows you to use a template and/or add custom graphics, logos, line drawings or even scanned pictures.

Business Card Designer Plus
by Cam Development
http://www.camdevelopment.com/designer/business_card/

Shareware, expires after 15 launches, 3.1MB file, $24.95 to buy.

I've used this software, has a nice design wizard and a built-in personal database as well.  ALso, TWAIN support allows you to import images from scanners and digital cameras.

Remember, even "free" business card software isn't... by the time you calculate the time to learn a new program, plus the expense of buying paper and ink.  In May 2007, I reviewed the top business card printers online and found some terrific values - and a business card printer you should avoid!  Read the business card printer reviews...
